DAVID WALLEY

After an early career in the Army David has spent the last 30 years in the Live Event industry. His experience encompasses major sporting, music and cultural events, as well as exhibitions, experiential and themed attractions, with a deep understanding of the Sport and Event market.

David has headed some of the most recognisable and established names in the world of events and been at the centre of several of the most significant mergers and acquisitions to have shaped the event industry; forging major deals and working with business owners, banks, venture capitalists and private equity, to buy, restructure, build and develop businesses for the advancement of their clients, their teams and their stakeholders.

As a strong team-builder, leader and people person he has a passion for the Live Event market and a belief that people are at their best when they have a strong sense of belonging, community and identity.

Some of Davids notable roles include:

    • Leading the management buy-out of P&O exhibition services in the late 90’s and merging it with then industry leader Melville.

    • In 2000, with funding from Candover PE, leading the management buy-in of a number of live event businesses. A rebrand soon followed and The Arena Group was formed. After 6 years and significant growth Arena was sold to private investors in 2007, delivering a significant uplift in value.

    • Following a number of years racing cars, David established 360 creative Event Services following the acquisition of a number of event businesses. Following its sale, David attracted the attention of Freeman where he became UK CEO until another attempt at retirement in 2015.

    • In 2017 David acquired Mobile Promotions and swiftly followed that with a further 3 acquisitions of Blue Peg, Beautiful Minds & Star Events. After rebranding as Star Live and building the management team, Star successfully navigated the pandemic and after significant growth this business was acquired by management with funding secured via LDC investments. 

      DAVID TUCKER

      David is the co-Founder of Jasper Equity and a seasoned professional with over two decades of working with successful management teams.

      His track record is highlighted by his substantial contributions to investee companies and strategic investments. He collaborates closely with businesses to craft and deliver comprehensive business plans and growth strategies.

      Some of David’s notable successes include:

      • A pivotal role in the growth of Star Live, transforming it from a £4 million turnover experiential and live events business into a £25 million turnover full turnkey solutions and specialist build partner to the events sector. Explore the full case study

      Before joining Jasper, David accumulated 12 years of valuable experience at Deloitte, working across the Channel Islands, Moscow, and Birmingham.

      Outside work, David has held many roles supporting local organisations including:

      • Trustee of Better Pathways: currently serving as a trustee for Better Pathways, a social enterprise dedicated to supporting individuals with mental health and learning challenges.
      • Chair of Governors at Lozells Primary School: David assumed the role of Chair of Governors at Lozells Primary School in 2003, contributing his leadership for 17 years.
      • Chairman of Edgbaston Priory Club: elected in 2016 (following his tenure as Treasurer since 2013), David served in this capacity for four years.
